Strong collaboration skills are a must

In five interdisciplinary research projects, AAU researchers from three or more main areas have worked together to solve a common problem. It has provided lessons that are invaluable in working with missions.

Good solutions cut across disciplines

As a precursor to the work with missions, Aalborg University launched five interdisciplinary research projects in 2018, which over a three-year period tackled challenges associated with, among other things:

  • Data security
  • Migration
  • Sustainable heat supply
  • Children's future competencies
  • Healthcare close to home

This has strengthened AAU's experience in interdisciplinary research collaborations, in such a way that we as a university are even better equipped to tackle important mission work and contribute to solving significant societal challenges.

With the interdisciplinary research projects, we have gained fantastic experience for our new strategy towards 2026, where we, as a mission-driven university, create knowledge for the world together with others
